Wigan Road, Ormskirk

We promoted the site through the planning process and obtained planning for 71 residential units and marketed and sold the site to Redrow Lancashire for a price in excess of £4m.

North Preston Strategic Urban Extension (SUE)

We identified this site of 100 acres for inclusion in a potential SUE in North Preston. We brought together two principal landowners and worked with our client to promote it through the Local Planning Authority Core Strategy. This was the subject of the Central Lancashire (South Ribble, Chorley and Preston) Examination in Public and led to an Inspectors recommendation to identify this location for the delivery of up to 350 units as part of a 2,500 residential unit SUE.

The site was successfully marketed and sold despite a short term local oversupply of consented sites to Morris Homes Limited.

Whittington Road, Oswestry, Shropshire

Vernon & Co acted as development managers for the site owners, Archwood Limited. We also assisted Archwood in the relocation of their UK head office to Chester Business Park.

Having researched the local residential market conditions and agreeing the principle of residential development of this brownfield site we agreed a sale to Wrekin Housing Trust. The Trust is one of the largest social housing providers/housing associations in the West Midlands with almost 12,000 homes for rent (and low cost home ownership) across Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Planning approval was obtained for 53 residential units, consisting of 35 two-bedroom houses, 13 three-bedroom houses, 1 four-bedroom house and 4 two bedroom bungalows. The properties are being built to be energy efficient.

The development will create 122 jobs including 6 apprenticeship opportunities, generating over £13 million to the economy and supporting local businesses and clubs, including the Trust’s sponsorship of the local Oswestry College football team.

The homes should be complete by Summer 2018.
